The alphabetcal system compatibility with Seamly2D is such a smart unintentional win. Most pattern drafting books force you to translate labels when going digital but having A B C match up direcly removes a whole layer of friction. I've seen beginers get lost just trying to map tutorial steps to software and this solves that completley.

YES, exactly this! I didn’t realize how much friction that translation layer creates until I started seeing people struggle with it.

When you’re already learning new software AND trying to understand pattern construction, having to mentally map ‘Point 1’ to ‘Point A’ to whatever the software calls it just adds unnecessary cognitive load.

The fact that The Basic Pattern Set accidentally eliminated that step makes the transition to parametric drafting so much smoother.

Really appreciate you articulating that, it’s exactly the advantage I’m seeing now as I draft these blocks in Seamly2D.”

My honest reaction to this is why isn't it double the price already?!?

Ha! I appreciate that! The price is staying at $12 for now because I want to make foundational pattern making accessible, and honestly, I’m still updating it.

Once the transformation techniques are added (turning blocks into wearable garments), that’s when the value doubles and the price will reflect it.

But anyone who gets it now at $12 gets that update free when it launches. So… you’re not wrong to grab it at this price while you can! 😊

Quick note: Someone caught a broken purchase link in this post earlier (and I accidentally deleted the comment while fixing it - sorry about that!). The link is corrected now. If that was you, thank you so much for letting me know! I really appreciate readers who take the time to point out issues like that
